Inferential reading

A strategy used to promote inference when reading, promoting an ability to connect what is in the text with what is in the mind. It can help pupils understand what to do when information is not stated explicitly in the text, using a simple strategy, “It says… I say…so…” Inferential reading

A strategy that encourages pupils to think about their own thought process during reading. It helps them become actively involved and monitor their comprehension as they read.
